Utah
5,271 named waters · 104 stocked in the last 30 days
Strawberry Reservoir is Utah's flagship trout fishery, holding Bear Lake strain cutthroat and kokanee salmon in numbers that make it one of the most consistent big-fish lakes in the West. The Green River below Flaming Gorge Dam is a Blue Ribbon tailwater packed with large, technical rainbow and brown trout, and much of the state's trout stocking program relies on sterile triploid rainbows to protect native cutthroat populations elsewhere.
Utah holds 5,271 fishable waters on the books. Utah DWR has logged 1,489 stockings in the last year, led by rainbow trout. The biggest water in the state is Great Salt Lake at 872,326 acres.
